ERROR:5000068 : iwreset -a failed

Hi All,

When the teamsite server was failed, i tried to restart the server thru command line tool (IWRESET -a) and it prompted me the following error.

Resetting iwserver. This operation takes some time
Please wait...
ERROR:5000068: Unable to establish connection with server

Then I have restarted the service thru the Service Manager of windows and the TeamSite service has started. But the Y mount was not responding.

Environment:
Interwoven TeamSite 6.5.0 Service Pack 2
Windows 2003 Standard Edition Service Pack 1

Please advice.

Use the following commands

net stop iwserver
net start iwserver

Also Restart the IIS server

Use the following commands

net stop iwserver
net start iwserver

Also Restart the IIS server

If you still get the same error again look at the server logs (iwtrace.log and iwserver.log) for any potential issues.Please upload the error logs is required.

I found the following on iwtrace :
ERROR: CreateProcess failure - 87
[Wed Jul 25 15:55:07 2007] Error: Event Subsystem is down, Restart Event Subsystem and run iwreset

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

And attached is the iwserver.log file.
When i have restarted the machine, it started working fine.

Reason:

In Teamsite 6.5 , CLTs in particular now will take up individual ports this has led to the available port-pool being exceeded, thus stopping connectivity to the server. And Windows 2003 has restricted the number of available ports and their recycle time.

So currently, Interwoven is suggesting to increase the MaxUserPort Value on the registry to its maximum 65534 (Not sure 65534 is for decimal or hexadecial value on registry).

Does this caused to stop TeamSite?

Are you using the eventSubsystem. If not disble this else it will eat up some resources and lot of diskSpace with the defaultDB.
