Yes you can do it.

Delete the file from workarea and submit it once it is deployed. It will be deleted from Staging also.

I think you can acheive that by use of dnr script.

On sucess of deployment to the target location, run a script in the source server to delete the file.

But what is neccesity to have the file in target and delete the file from the source?

Usually people desire to automatically delete a file from the target if it is deleted from the source location, which can be acheived by use of "doDelete" option.

Actually these files are huge files and hence dont want to store these files on teamsite server. So we want to delete these files from teamsite once the open deploy is done on some other server.

You have to check the OD admin manual for the exact syntax to do the configuration.

Why don't you call a script which will delete data from workarea and then submit it. It's not that tough to implement.

This is a bad idea. If you do not do this perfectly you will have some serious problems. That being said, it is not my system, and I do not really care if a bug deletes every file on your backingstore.

How are you invoking OpenDeploy ? If it from Workflow then you have a script that initiates OD, you can then have that script remove the file. You can even then change the workflow to run the submit after the deploy and then the delete will be pushed to staging.

Like I said before, you can really get things in a bad state with this. It would be better to make these files private and then remove them as needed.
