Question about iw.cfg

Hello,

I would like to accomplish the following with iw.cfg... when previewing a template within TS, a directory referenced on the web server as, for example:

/global/includes/siteheader.inc

should actually pick up the document that sits at:

/iwmnt/default/phase3/internet/global/WORKAREA/global/www/includes/siteheader.inc

How should this be written an in which section, exactly, should this be placed? Thanks in advance,

Before we hit you up with answers to your question, let me verify something. When you say, "previewing a template within TS" do you mean previewing a page generated by templating?

Just want to be sure.

Now for one of many possible solutions.

[iwproxy_preconnect_remap]
_regex=^/iwmnt/default/main/(.*)/WORKAREA/[^/]+/global/includes/siteheader.inc=/iwmnt/default/phase3/internet/global/WORKAREA/global/www/includes/siteheader.inc

This is based on what you wrote. I imagine that you should have "main" between default and phase3. Also, if global is not the name of the workarea, you will need to insert that between WORKAREA and global.

Finally, this answers your specific question but not the general one of how do you make this one rule apply to all such files. To do that, you will need to use groupings and pattern matching.

I recommend the Regular Expression book from O'Reily by Jeffrey Friedl for more info on writing the regex line.

Is your siteheader.inc file included by your previewed page as a server side include (SSI)?

Because if you want to remap a SSI, you should put your _regex line in the [iwproxy_plugin_remap] section. The preconnect_remap won't impact the SSI at all.

Look in the IW Admin guide for the special steps you need to do to set up SSIs with Interwoven.

I tried adding the iwproxy_plugin_remap section (wasn't already there) to the iw.cfg and restarted. However, it did not appear to carry out the request. Apache is already set up for SSI. The regex is:

_regex=^/iwmnt/default/main/(.*)/WORKAREA/[^/]+/global/(.*)=/iwmnt/default/main/phase3/internet/global/WORKAREA/global/www/$1

which is intended to interpret the following:



and reference the file:

/iwmnt/default/main/phase3/internet/global/WORKAREA/global/www/includes/header.inc

Be careful about using ^/iwmnt in your pattern matching. I'm not 100% clear on the processing order, but I know that often, these regexs get applied when your URL request string starts with "/iw-mount" or "/.iwmnt"

I usually just start my _regex left-hand-sides at "default/main", because I know there's no other combination of those directories anywhere else in the /iwmnt branch.

Another thing you can do is kill the iwproxy server process, and then start it back up with the -d flag (for debug). That, in addition to looking at the apache logs will show you what it is trying to do and (sometimes) why it is failing.

If you want your $1 to represent the string that is after the "global/" in the source string, then you should either be using $2 in your substitution string or remove the parens from earlier in your source string after the "main/" part of your string and continue to use $1. There's no reason to be using 2 sets of paren enclosed strings if you are only using one substitution variable in your result.
