DCR Deletion WF

Hi ,

We have a requiremnt to Delete the DCR from Teamsite .

We use datadeploy ,so we want the the WF should do the below .

1. User Initiates the DCR Deletion WF. This gets approved .
2. The DCR is deleted from DataBase.
3. The DCR is then Deleted from TS.

If any one is having any sample script then pls let me know !!! it would save some time .

I suggest you consider swapping steps 2 and 3 - you should delete the file in TS first and then deploy the deletion.

Beyond that - you should probably spend some time with the OpenDeploy and DataDeploy manuals.

Along with ghoti suggestion, i suggest to add upon a #4.

1. User Initiates the DCR Deletion WF. This gets approved .
2. The DCR is then Deleted from TS.
3. The DCR is deleted from DataBase.
4. On success of #3, submit the DCR.

This would depened on whether you were performing a filelist data deployment from the workarea or a deployment based on STAGING or an EDITION.

Adam, I hope you agree with my point.

Personally - I prefer taking care of submits as soon as the object of the submission is approved - so I'd consider the submission of the deleted DCR (and deleted generated files) to be part of #2 already and thus your #4 is redundant and late (IMO).

This is, perhaps, because I don't like deploying anything (new, modified, or deletion) to a production environment from the workarea (a dev or preview environment sure, but a production environment no)

Prem,

you should take care of the associated assets that got tagged with the content DCRs. They need to be delted from web server as well.

Please have a re look on your implementation part.

I'm curious how you made out with your DCR deletion WF or if you have run into any problems.

I assume you are building a wft

I've only been trained on the workflow modeler and I 'm wondering if I can accomplish the same with the visual tool.
