Hi,I want to call javascript funtion into my tpl file. want to pass the variable to JS funtion and get the result in the same tpl.Is it possible? Please guide me.ThanksVenu
You can use the script tag and write the functions within CDATA section. To use and save the value use IWDatacapture object.
Kaalra, can we use IWDatacapture object in TPL with the script tag?
Venu, you can use js script within the TPL to retrieve values from the dcr using pt tags.
What bull, pardon me. You can not do that, see the list of reasons above
I was tring to say we can use js to get the desired functionality for the page to be created using the pt.
How true! Let's help Vens even more. S/he can also use PHP, Ruby, X-Controls, Java Applets and whatnot to achieve "desired functionality", whatever that might be.If you can't help, don't hinder
But Bo, will any of those work on my Commodore 64 ? How about my Nintendo ?
Thanks for all.So we can't execute JS in tpl file. please conclude.
No, there is no way to execute JS from the presentation template before/during Generation. You certainly can generate JS components within your Page using Templates but that's two different things.
Hi,i am a new to teamsite ,so srry if the doubt is sunstandard []i am also in a similar situation i need to pass a dcr value inside a js script,i have come accross a site where it says we can use iw_cscript tagbut only if If your TeamSite Templating server is on a Windows NT or a Windows 2000 serverv is there any work around for this situation..?Regardslibra
Thanks Boris.OUr issue:There are two dropdown boxes in my page and depending on the selection of first dropdown the values in second dropdown should change, currently this is implemented with the help of a js script .we are asked whter it is possible to take the values of dropdown box from DCR ,under this design ,to implement this we need to pass the dcr values to JS script during generating which after going through the forum seems to be not possible,so we droped it.Also our server is not installed in Windows NT or windows 2000 ,so we droped this designRegardsLibra
1). As stated js is only relevant on the resulting page. Lets not keep beating that drum.2). What your describing in regard to the drop down behavior is possible by simply using TeamSite to generate the javascript on the resulting page that reaults in that behavior.- Build you web page first and get that working. Some hints include an associative array to store the options for the first list and relate them to the second list. You'll need an onload routine to populate the lists with default options. Finally you'll need an onchange function to create the list in the second drop down based on the selction of the first.- It starts with a well done page first. Then tweak it so that it can be templated if you didn't do that to begin with. Finally template it.
