Some work areas - does not show the content properly

We have teamsite 6.5 running in unix

We have four work areas in one branch.But, we observed that in two of the workareas, some of the file content is not properly displayed.

Typically, the problem is as follows:-

In work area, /iwmnt/default/main/nortel/WORKAREA/area51/templatedata/pss/pss_content/data/services/t/

the file, telepresence_en_us shows the product OID instead of the product name when opens in the edit mode. Even when we select the actual product name from the drop down and click done, it again shows the oid.

But the same file telepresence_en_us in the workarea /iwmnt/default/main/nortel/WORKAREA/pss/templatedata/pss/pss_content/data/services/t shows the productname and not the oid.

We observed that the workareas /iwmnt/default/main/nortel/WORKAREA/global and /iwmnt/default/main/nortel/WORKAREA/area51 are having problems with many files in the similar way.

How can I get the actual content get displayed in the work area in instead of the product iod?

I tried the following:-

1)Submitted the DCR again and then submitted the content => did not help

2)Tried to execute /web1/teamsite/iw-home/bin/iwupdate –x /iwmnt/default/main/nortel/WORKAREA/pss/templatedata/pss/pss_content/data/services/t/telepresence_en_us /iwmnt/default/main/nortel/WORKAREA/area51/templatedata/pss/pss_content/data/services/t/telepresence_en_us

But this shows "ERROR:02401: File or directory is the same as the other version".

Can some body help me out?

This sounds like some custom implementation. We will struggle to help here without a little more detail.

And grep'ing for the file from iwcmp output:

[/indent]So, both of these tell us that TeamSite does not believe that the files is modified in either workarea, (note: the second-to-last-line is /u/ not /t/) and that the file is in sync with the current version from the staging area. That doesn't seem to explain what you're seeing.

I am including few more details :-

This sounds like some custom implementation. We will struggle to help here without a little more detail.

Here are the details of implementation :-

Teamsite is having interface with Broadvision’s database with Interwoven’s TeamSite Broadvision Interface (TBI)

Every product in the system must have a taxonomy DCR (created in BV).

First create the DCR and submit it to broadvision database, it will get an oid(object id).
Then the corresponding product names will be displayed in content form (by querying the database)and the user can select any product.

Here, instead of the product name, it shows the product oid in the workarea area51

Can you make sure
Your browsers are set to always load content (no-cache)
Your "customer web server" is set to expire content immediately (no-cache)

I am not sure how the customer webservers are configured. I have emailed the corresponding support person for this info.I will update the post once i have that info.

But they have caching in Akamai servers .After the deployment process, files are cached on the Akamai servers. After the deploy process is complete, it may take between 5-10 minutes for the newer version of the file to show up in your browser. When a user accesses an html page, a call to the Akamai cache servers, located worldwide, delivers the stored file to the browser. In the case of a modified file, the old version of a file is purged automatically from the cache servers at deployment.

So, both of these tell us that TeamSite does not believe that the files is modified in either workarea, (note: the second-to-last-line is /u/ not /t/)

My application manager wanted to check this file after the content problem reported.She copied this file to /u in area51

Also, we observe some other files in the workarea area51 also show the same behaviour.

As I have no idea what Broadvision and/or TBI is doing - I can't really provide anything more in the way of assistance. It sounds like the problem is caching somewhere - or that the code does something seemingly odd in some circumstance - but what / how / why / etc. - I have no clue. Sorry.

Hopefully someone else can chime in.

Are the datacapture.cfg files the same in each workarea?

Do they reference any FormAPI/Inline scripts that might be different in each of the workareas?
