Using VFE

Hi

Quick question, is it possible to use VFE as the editor of choice for HTML page. What i would to know is can you configure the VFE to open up when I select an html page.

Right now the word office 2003 is the editor that come up to edit the html file, the problem with this is that word office add a lot of unwanted characters within the html page, and i was wondering if it can have the VFE as the editor so i can test to see if the same thing happen.

If it is possible, what would be the URL to configure the file type association.

Off hand - I wouldn't think so. The VFE is an embedded WYSIWYG (sort-of) editor for use within web pages - whereas Word is a editing application. If you have some other editing application available on your client machine (HomeSite, DreamWeaver, etc.) you can configure TeamSite's Local File Manager to use that.

Even if you could get the VFE to act as a stand-alone editor application, I'm not sure I'd want to - it's never seemed to be that good an editor as far as I could tell so I don't think I'd want to use it as the basis for creating all my static HTML pages.

However - It is likely someone will have a work-around / hack / or other type solution for doing what you are asking...

Thanks for your reply, I understand that word or homesite or dreamweaver are much better editing application, but our client that will update the HTML file are not familiar at all with any of those product. The best one that I can think of is Word but then again it does add a lot of unwanted code within the HTML page when you use it.

I was hoping to find a better solution for our client where it would be easy for them to use and also more friendly when it cam to adding HTML code in the background.

If any one has a solution for this then I would appreciate any possible solution.
