Changing the UID Number of a User Without deleting the User

Hi We are using iplanet LDAP , We have created a User ID , now we want to change the UID Number of the user , without deleting the user , is there any way we can do this and what impact would this have on the TS User Mapping .

My guess is you'll have to re-create / re-register the user with TeamSite and then use iwidmap to fix all entries associated with the old UID to get mapped to the new UID

Hi ,

The problem that we are facing is that we are using iplanet LDAP and TS6.1 on solaris ,

On the TS server (Solaris Box) we have OS User IDs and on a Different M/c we have LDAP Installed.

The uid of the LDAP User is conflicting with the UID of the OS User and this is of concern to us .
e.g.
LDAP username=prem
uid=123

OS User Name=Fish
ID=123

so when user prem is working on a file/DCR , the file/DCR gets locked by the name of FISH.

we are still finding out what other issues this conflict could cause.
