Broken Preview Image in Visual Editor

Hi,

When I insert an image on tinymce visual editor, the image preview is not working. It shows a broken image instead of the image preview. Please find the attached image.

Kindly advice.

Did you put that image in your workarea?

Yes the image is available on the workarea. Only through the image picker icon on the TinyMCE, i am selecting the image and inserting.

The preview of the image is working good in VFE. Only on the TinyMCE its not working.

I had the same issue that was resolved by following these steps provided by Interwoven Support :

This is a know issue and it affects IE only.

To fix this issue in IE:

1) Make a backup copy of dc_editor.js in

httpd/webapps/content_center/datacapture.

2) Edit dc_editor.js and delete this line:
document_base_url: ''\

3) Run "iwreset -ui" and clear the IE cache.

You should not modify iwwebd Components directly under httpd. Any subsequent run of the "make_toolkit" may

Maybe so, though make_toolkit has been run several times since this change and it was never overwritten.

Until Interwoven provides a fix in the form of a patch or otherwise this is their supported solution.

Synopsis

This article may help when inserted image is not displayed in the textarea for TinyMCE and Internet Explorer.

Details

The problem is caused by bug 73227/TS-3522. The bug is documented in the TeamSite 6.71 Service Pack 1 Release Notes as a known issue.

The bug only affects IE. When Firefox is used, the inserted image is displayed correctly.

There is an available fix. However, if the fix is applied, it will not work for Firefox (bug 71421).

To fix the bug in IE:

1) Make a backup copy of dc_editor.js in httpd/webapps/content_center/datacapture.

2) Edit dc_editor.js and delete this line:
document_base_url: ''\

3) Run "iwreset -ui" and clear the IE cache.

Update: Here's a way to make it work for both Firefox and Internet Explorer:

1) Follow the steps 1 and 2 in the previous fix.

2) Prior to these lines:

// create the json of tinymce init settings
var jsontext = "{debug: false,\
mode: 'exact',\

Add the line below:
var msie = ((navigator.appVersion.indexOf("MSIE")!= -1)&&!window.opera)? true : false;

3) After the whole jsontext variable initialization:

theme_advanced_path_location: 'bottom',\

Add the lines below:

if (!msie) {
jsontext += "document_base_url: '',";
}

4) Run "iwreset -ui" and clear the IE cache

Just something I found in case anyone is struggling getting the full firefox/ie solution to work.

The latest fix in the support article, which explains how to get it working for firefoz and IE, doesn't work for me. In the end it doesn't really matter for my current client, because they are only using IE. So i just implemented the original fix and it worked fine.
