I fired
C:\iw-home\bin>iwregen \default\main\Branch1\WORKAREA\WA1\WEB-INF\resp.jsp

I got this error : the source template generates .html files .

But I am able to regenerate the file from the UI.

Iwregen

Regenerates an HTML file that was generated by TeamSite FormsPublisher based on a
presentation template and a data record. Use this command to update a generated HTML
file if either or both the presentation template and the data record that the file is based on
have been modified.

Usage:

iwregen [-h|-v] vpath

-h Displays this usage message.

-v Displays version number.

vpath Specifies the path to the file that will be regenerated, where vpath
is either a relative vpath or a vpath based on a backing store.
Server-rooted vpaths are not supported.

Note: You can also specify Y:-rooted paths.

Example:
The following example regenerates the HTML file june_display.html, which resides in
the current workarea.

% iwregen june_display.html

You can use a TPL to generate / regenerate your JSP... I do not remember the command at this moment but you can look into documentation to find out how to do this..

Checkt the templating.cfg entry for this TPL. Does is specify HTML or JSP ?

Post the the EAs on the JSP as well as the entry if you have questions.

It is HTML in templating. cfg.These HTML pages are of no use to the system. We generate jsp pages which hold the actual code .Use perl code we save them in a separate directory in teamsite.We also set EAs on them. so that these pages can be edited using DCRs .

Now my requirement is to regenrate these JSPs. How do I do that?

You can change the HTML to JSP. I have no idea if that will break your system or not. You can also run iwregen on the HTML (assuming that that will create the JSP).

Finally, I never use iwregen in a WF, rather I build the iwpt_compile command and execute it. That is more difficult but iwregen will not work on a new file (nothing to regen) so in a WF, iwpt_compile is better

You generate multiple Files from your templates, one html and one (or several) jsp. Then you set TS EAs yourself since in that schema
only html will get them automatically. With that setting you can not use iwregen, no way no how. You should be using iwpt_compile.
It's a little more work to set all command parameters and that's where your designer foresight to set EAs on generation will pay off.

So, in your code you should obtain DCR, PT, asset Category/Type from EAs and then set and run iwpt_compile. Note that your "-o"
parameter would have to be that *of no use* html and that you may inadvertently regenerate the whole collection of jsps (if there is indeed a collection)

I am having a similar problem, I try to generate using an ipl script which I have created to regen several hundred files. In the script I run :

/APPS/TeamSite/iw-home/bin/iwregen "/default/main/EN/PULTE/WORKAREA/development/site/communities/az/buckeye/festival-foothills-adobe/brochure.aspx" and usually get an error.

I then go to the UI and regen the same file, and it works. When I rerun the script it also then works. So I am not sure what is going on.

You do not tell what error you usually get so it is quite hard to help you.

So I dont understand what the UI is doing differently from the script.
Also let me say that I have copied the dcrs and aspx files from production to our dev server and set all the correct EA on them.

Any help would be greatly apprciated...this is driving me insane....
