UI Customization issue in 6.1

I am into UI customization track in TS 6.1 Could you please guide me how can I change the existing menu item names(drop down menu items).

Have you read the UI Customization Guide?
Are you trying to change the names of OOTB menu items or custom menu items? (I'd advise against the former unless you have a real need for it - as it will either involve non-supported modifications to the product files or breakage of context sensitivity of the various menu options)

To be more specific we are in migration of our webdeskpro look and feel into UITK. Since webdeskpro is no more suppoerted in 6.5 + release, we are forced to get the same UI as what we got for webdeskpro. For this requirement, we are supposed the change the menu items, bring the same look and feel.. Currently we are in a POC whether this is achievable?

Also we have been asked by the business to get the same look and feel. This activity is carried out inorder to minimize the training cost to business users on UI changes once we do upgradation.

Has anyone in their project faced such sort of scenario? This is pain to both developers as well as to end users.

CCPro is relatively close to WebDesk Pro - such that the learning curve is relatively small in my experience - a few menu items have changed location and or had slight naming changes (all of which, I believe, are captured in an Appendix in one of the manuals)

I think it would be easier / quicker / cheaper to provide upgrade training material for the users than to try and truly change the UI of CCPro to look exactly like WDP - but perhaps that's just my opinion...
