DCT permissions question

I have set up a "template" branch containing all of my DCTs and PTs with the idea that any time I create a new branch I can just use the "Copy To..." functionality to copy the "templatedata" folder to the new branch. However, I'm having a permissions issue with this and I'm sure it's just something I'm not understanding. All of the datacature.cfg files do not allow read access to the group that is used for sharing on the branch/workarea making them unavailable to users. If I manually go in (through the OS file system) and fix the security it works, but I'd really rather not have to have such a manual process for creating a new branch. I thought perhaps that running an iwreset -a would correct the permissions, but it didn't. Am I missing something obvious here? Thanks.

I figured out an alternative to my "Copy To..." method. I have instead placed the "templatedata" directory in a file share and I simply import it from there to a new branch as needed. The permissions are properly set using this method.
