Query on roles.xml | TS6.7.1

Hi all,

Need an advice from you..

I am currently in urgent requirement to disable the delete functionality from File dropdown in content centre. Basically I need to restric this menu item to all the roles except for master.

I do understand that this is achievable thru UI customization... My query over here is by just commenting

will help me for immediate effect.... The reason why I am asking is after UI customization, I need to execute iwreset -ui whcih is not allowed at this time. I need to wait till weekend but the requirement is business crtical..

Request you to shed light on my approach..

System : TS6.7.1 on Solaris 10 with no LDAP authentication module.

Try it, see what happens and let us know. Anybody who's not speculating would simply have to do the same.

First - I believe that 6.7.1 no longer uses custom_roles.xml, it uses custom_userops.xml
Second, unless something changed - Standard OOTB menu items cannot be restricted by role using custom_userops.xml - instead you need to look at the options available for each role - within the Admin tab in the GUI and enable / disable the options there (Manage Roles > Files, Forms, and Folders) -- or you have to disable it completely in the ui_custom.xml and add your own custom Delete menu option and use custom_userops.xml in association with the Admin tab in the GUI to enable / disable it for the different roles.
