Couple of questions on using iwfsshrink -

Does iwfsshrink utility need to be run as root?
Does it need to be run as a background process using nohup when executed from command line?

Env: TS 6.5 SP2/solaris

It is probably best if it is run as root, but I believe it should be able to be run by any TeamSite Master user.

It forks itself into the background - you don't need to worry about that.
You can check it periodically by running: iwfsshrink status

thanks for ur help fish -- fyi, we ran iwfshrink and were able to recover around 50% of space! and we ran it as root - did not want to take a chance on our prod server.

FYI: I run iwfsshrink as a teamsite master user in PROD and no problems to date. If anyone does have problems tho', I would definitely LOVE to hear about it!

FWIW, I've also run iwfsshrink as non-root master several times. no issues. TS 6.5 sp2 on Solaris 9.
