OD error-Could not find matching OpenDeploy client

Is cms_geo_stage the Base Server or the Receiver?
My guess is that it is the Base Server - and the particular Receiver does not have this host set up as an allowedHost in the odrcvr.xml file - or it was set up but the service not restarted after the edit - but that's just a guess.

You are certain the OD client is running on the 2nd server ? try telnet cms_geo_stage 20014

cms_geo_stage is a base server. I have configured the odnodes.xml of base and odnodes.xml and odrcvr.xml of receiver. Entries are made properly in the files of both receivers. I do not have access to the receiver server. But i got the confirmation from the application team that the files are placed properly and they have restarted the service. I have also restarted the source.
After that rcvr1 worked and rcvr2 did not.
I have tried
telnet rcvr1 20014 and telnet rcvr2 20014. Both are working fine.

I have requested for the rcvr log files to them.
Is there anything else I can look for to debug this ?

I checked the rcvr log too. But got the same error in rcv* log file.
I got following error in the servername_odrcvr.log

Typically an element in the receiver configuration file (by default
odrcvr.xml) contains an invalid value. This message an also appear when
the sender's base server configuration file contains SSL encryption
attributes, but the receiving host's base server or receiver
configuration file does not.

I am again looking in to the config file of receiver. This deployment is not using any encryption.

Has it changed recently ?

I checked the config file on receiver. In odnodes.xml, I was using the host name. I changed it to IP address and restarted the service. But all in vain, its still showing the same error.

The KB implies it may have been bad XML.

Does the sender work to other receivers ? How about to itself ?

Yes. The sender works well with itself and other receivers.

Based on the above - you either haven't properly configured the odrcvr.xml file, or you have a deployment configuration file that is set with a localNode to "cms_geo_stage" that should be set to something else.

Actually, if I understand the thread, cms_geo_staging was the receiver, but the od_rcvr lists the localnode as TORWSMBC02V

Base ODnodes.xml has correct entry for the 'TORWSMBC02V' whose node name is Can_PreProd_Web.
cms_geo_stage is node name of receiver and its host name is gd1wpcmsap11. So there is an entry for this source on the receiver.
If you check my attached odnodes.xml on both, they have IP1 for cms_geo_stage on source and gd1wpcmsap11 on receiver.

You appear to be defining the localNode in your deployment configuration file with a symbolic name from odnodes.xml -- that doesn't work unless you have strictPartnerChecking enabled on the receiver so that it ignores the localNode setting from the deployment configuration file - or, you can try using the same symbolic name in the allowedHost section of your receiver.

Right now you have the sender saying it is "cms_geo_stage" and the receiver is saying - I don't have any allowedHost settings for "cms_geo_stage".

That was a good hit. It worked. I used the same symbolic name on both side. But confused now, I had configured two servers with same way. One worked well and second after this modification. (I had also configured couple of other servers this way and they are also working).
What can be the reason first one did not give any problem ?
