javascript not calling ipl

Hi,
I have a javascript which passes the parameter to ipl.
Ipl is working fine. But javascript is not calling the ipl.
I call it through callServer. Heres my code.
Could anyone suggest what went wrong?

Within your js the command written is
IWDatacapture.callServer("http://"+server+"/iw-bin/allowDeny.ipl",params);

As per your command, the third param is missing.

It should be IWDatacapture.callServer (url, data, isGet). What about isGet as true or false?

I gave the isGet as true and tried with false also but its not working.

In your IPL - you have:

...

I don't see where $myValue is being set - so as presented, the code within the if () statement is not getting run, and the values for $testOptions1 and $taskOptions2 are not getting set - and thus your call to the javascript&colon;[html]

[/html]is passing two undefined values to the values() function (not a great name, but ...)

Your JS code looks "okay" - though I'd recommend some changes:

The event handler function gets passed the item that triggered it - so use it instead of defining another variable (with an incorrect name "val") for the item.
I don't believe you need the "http://"+server+ part in the call - but if you do, I suggest moving the definition of server before the addFormHandler() code to ensure that it is processed before the init() function is.

Beyond that - it would help us figure out where you're having problems by you indicating what alerts (if any) were displayed - and with what values.

The value for variable $myValue is passed from javascript as params.
When i give dummy values for $myValue, it works fine.But from javascript the ipl is not called.

I made the changes to javascript as you suggessted. But still its the same.
The alerts with in ChangeHandler function is displayed. Am getting "params.myValue" and "calling server" alerts.

But not any alerts from "values" function.

If you are running on solaris environment, check the permissions for the ipl file.

In your Perl script - try changing

$twig->parsefile("capacity.xml");

$twig->parsefile("/full/path/to/capacity.xml");

It is possible the script is running and dying right there.

XML::Twig provides the "safe_parse" and the "safe_parsefile" methods which wrap the parse in an eval and return either the parsed twig or 0 in case of failure.[/indent]...
parsefile (FILE [, OPT => OPT_VALUE [...]])[indent]Open "FILE" for reading, then call "parse" with the open handle.
The file is closed no matter how "parse" returns.

A "die" call is thrown if a parse error occurs. Otherwise it will return the twig built by the parse. Use "safe_parsefile" if you want the parsing to return even when an error occurs.[/indent][/indent]In addition, you should either surround the call with an eval { ... }; if ($@) { ... } statement or switch to safe_parsefile and note the return value.

Well - first of all, I recommend using '/' instead of '\\' and using $ARGV[0] instead of @ARGV[0] -- though I have no idea what you believe the value of ARGV[0] to be.

The only other potential issue I see is the fact that you have TeamSite installed in Program Files - a directory name with a space in it, which tends to cause bizarre problems that are difficult if not impossible to track down.

If it is at all an option - I'd recommend uninstalling and reinstalling TeamSite in a more sane directory path (C:/iw-home, C:/Interwoven/iw-home, C:/Interwoven/TeamSite, etc.)
