Validate custom1 - search form

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how we can validate the custom1 field by just entering part of the custom1 description field in the search form.

At the moment you have to click on the validate button which is an extra step. I wanted to automate it so that users can just write a part of the description (Custom 1) and click Search.

Which version of WorkSite Client is this? Also, is this FileSite, DeskSite, WorkSite Web, or something else?

When you're in the search dialog, from within a Desktop Client, typing in some of the text (of a validated field description) in any lookup field should auto-detect the rest of the full description. If this isn't what you mean, would you explain it in more detail?

This is Filesite and Desksite 8.2. Would i am trying to say is that when you type part of the value (description) it doesnt go and validate the entry. you have to click on the lookup button which brings up a dialog with only one value (since you had typed a value in the custom 1 field of the search). you have to then select the value and search. cant this be done without the user clicking on the lookup button.
