Perhaps you do not even need CSSDK for that?

Good idea, but I can only access the TS server through the java api...
I thought I could find this info in CSInstallationInfo, CSInstallationObject or CSFactory but it's not the case.

You may be SOL then. I can think of several ways to obtain OS info but no matter how you slice it you have to run something on the Server
