Outlook Hangs when opening documents(Word,excel,Powerpoint)

Having this intermitten problem whereby the users experience problems when trying to open the documents from FileSite 8.2 SP1 - this results in Outlook hang and freeze. is it something to do with DDE settings on the View File Types Settings under the Window Explorer->Options->File Types?

Anyone encountering this problem - would appreciate if you could advise on the resolution.

Hi,
Hada client who experienced this problem when a particular Digital dictation software was running. Another piece of software may be the cause in your case.
Another diagnotic option is to setup Local Applications (off the Filsite Menu) and test the various settings there. You can remove the DDE commands to take them out of the loop. Anither trick is to remove the path to winword.exe, as Windows knows where to find it (i.e have Winwor5d.exe instread of "C:\program files\microsoft office\office 11\winword.exe")

I have experienced this issue in some customers with 8.2 version, we have succeed to reduce in most of cases (not 100 % effective) configuring as your partners said the Local Applications set up. In our case we select the DDE settings.

Hi all, Managed to find the cause of the problem - it is due to the RAID software that is installed on the client PC that is causing the problem. And by killing the exe file under Task Manager, the Word document is opened as expected.
