Reading an DCR

Hi all

Thanks in advance,

I want to read an DCR inside an TPL .. where i iwill retrive the values from

that DCR(i want to read). i am able to get the DCR path, but unable to open the file

used a normal perl file open() operation for this , but am getting message "Cannot open the file" . Can any please guide me regarding this.

Well you are probably not providing the path to the file.

You give zero information, so it is impossible to help you as is.

Print out the DCR you are trying to open or port the code you are using (or both).

Perhaps you need to take some FormsPublisher training, or at least read the manuals a bit more?
If you're processing a DCR with a PT - the PT already has a handle on the DCR and you don't need to do an explicit open of it for accessing its contents.
If you want to load in a second DCR, there are methods available for that too, which take care of creating the file handle from which to read the content in an XML parsed manner.
If you really want to manually open the DCR for reading, make sure you are passing the entire file system path to the DCR, not its vpath, and not its area-relative vpath.
