OnSave is an event. you can trigger on that event in formapi. Open the formapi manual and start searching for onsave, you will find many entries.

OnSave event can be declared within script section of your DCT.

IWEventRegistry.addFormHandler("onSave", checkSaveFunc);

When a user clicks on SAVE button of a DCT, the function checkSaveFunc would get called.

For more in-depth knowledge of Save functionalities, read on FormAPI manual.

For any specific issues, provide your requirements in detail .. along with working environment such as OS, TS version etc etc.
