Hello,

I have a requirement to create a automatic generation of left navigation of a site. When the user generates a content DCR the page should be added to the left navigation and it should be updated on all the pages. Is there anyway to do this. The client want to have .ssi files for the left navigation. Your help is much appreciable.

I have done something like this for my client.I was having a .net web application,for left navigation they have control for it.I have created a DCR and its corresponding tpl as desired by client(.aspx).When user submits that DCR to workflow,the workflow simply generate the asp file and deployed it from where it will be get included to that control.The main index page for that site include all left,main,top and bottom control to finally generate the page.So it automatically update left navigation for whole of the application.

I think this can give you a direction.

For navigation purpose into the page, you can use the SSI includes as client have suggested...

For that Include the navigation file name in page using "include" tag and deploy the page . So whenever you do changes in navigation page....it automatically reflect into all pages where that navigation file is included.
