Publishing Versions

Hello...

Our business is in the process of designing a large manual. One requirement is that they would like to see versions of a given file (like on a wiki) and I know that TS has versioning capability but how would you publish all versions of a file to a web site so users do not use TS to veiw previous versions?

Buy a whole lot of disk. Then write a perl script, that will use iwrlog (or iwattib) to get the ObjectID for each version of each file, then use iwcat to grab that version and push it out.

That depends on whether the intent is to have the front-end (web-server) utilize the back-end (TeamSite) in real-time - or whether all (or some?) of the versions of the files that exist in TeamSite are intended to be replicated on the front-end.

In the first case - yes, you need a lot of disk space on your TeamSite server and you need some mechanism for having query / retrieval processes run "as" a TS user by remote command from the front-end.

In the latter case - you need to develop your front-end for querying / retrieving the versioned files (file__version.extension ?)

If you're really planning to make all versions of files available on the front-end, perhaps TeamSite is not the right system to be using...?
