I am new to the HotFolder feature on MediaBin. Can we install more than one hotfolder on the desktop and setup different task for each folder?

Hi Chewie,

Yes, you can configure as many folders associated to different HotFolder (hereinafter known as HF) tasks as you want. To provide a little background, the HF consists of two components.

The first component is the HF Service. This is a Windows service which does all the work of monitoring and queing the jobs into the MediaBin Server Active Jobs Queue. We have our service installed on the same machine as the MediaBin Server Service itself but, I'm sure you could put it almost anywhere you want.

The second component is the HF Editor. This is the component which generates a configuration file in the form of an xml file which stores all of your configurations and settings.

In the HF Editor, you can select as many individual folders on your file system and assign the tasks and/or jobs associated with those assets.
