Removing author from owners for a group task

The workflow I am working in, has a requirement that an author should not approve his own contents.
That is,if an author is also the reviewer, he should not be allowed to 'take' the ownership of the group task.

How to go about this?

You need to execute the CLT iwrmtaskuser before your group task gets activated.

$iwhome/bin/iwrmtaskuser {taskId}  {UserId}

in which $iwhome is your iw-home directory; taskId is the task ID of the group task which can be fetched by using task name and UserId is the id which needs to be removed.

How to go about this?

It depends on how you defined the sharedby element for the grouptask.
If you defined it to use an actual group (OS or TS group) - then you cannot eliminate an individual from the group.
If you defined it as a list of users - then you want to make sure you don't include the Author in that list. Assuming that the Author is known at instantiation time - you should be able to programmatically eliminate their entry from the sharedby list before it's set.
If the Author is determined after instantiation time you'll need a script to adjust the sharedby element of the grouptask. If the Author task is also a grouptask - then you'll want an externaltask script or iwat script that does the necessary steps. If the Author is chosen via a cgitask script, you'll want to augment that script to perform the necessary steps.

You'll need to use the TeamSite::WFworkflow::GetTaskByName() and TeamSite::WFtask::RemoveUser() methods to get a task object associated with the grouptask and to remove the user from the sharedby element respectively.
