Daily backup strategy

Hi,

We have a senario where we have to maintain a daily replica of production teamsite enviornment on our DR (Disaster Recovery).

What would be the best practise to do this kind of work, example: take a zip of iw-store and replace it at DR store location.

Lot depends on your exact requirement.

If you are talking about the complete DR system, than you have give thought about lot of things.

1. replication of users, if OS users.
2. replication of teamsite groups, access levels, etc.
3. replication of code, configuration under "iw-home" if not versioned in iw-store.
4. replication of store.

You have to freeze->take back up->replicate at DR , also think about what do you want to do with running workflows.

Depending your OS and storage for your store, you can look at using OS mirrors.

If you just want to replicate content, you can even look at daily edition deployments to DR server. (NOTE : this depends on your teamsite implementation, like number of branches, size, etc, etc)

I completly agree on Mak's suggestion and to be more elabrotive rsync will serve your need. If you are using LDAP, then strateges for taking users ang grups info differs.
