Can some please send me a link or provide more information on what an
"IW Store" is and why I need more than one of these. I'm a client and vendor is suggesting I need another one.

That is an implementation decision that is usually made by a system architect who is implementing TS.

The store is used to store the data within TeamSite. Most implementations have a single store, however larger implementations can use more. It is similar to a DB in that you need them to be stable (frozen) for a backup. So if you have a 24/7 implementation then multiple store are helpful. Also if you have multiple disparate groups or business units, you may use multiple stores.

Is the vendor IWOV or a 3rd party reseller?
You should ask for the rationale behind their suggestion (additional stores cost additional $'s)
A company with terabytes of web content or that manages sites for different global organizations - generally wants multiple stores (for reasons that nipper mentioned).
A company with tens of gigabytes of web content (or less) that's generally managed within one location (even nationally) - usually is fine with a single store.
There are other reasons why you might benefit from having a second store - but without knowing more about your company, the amount of content you have to manage and various other aspects - it would be difficult for any of us to give a definitive answer.

Thank you for your advise. I understand now why the vendor is suggesting a new store. To give you some background we are a very large company with about 60,000 employees. There is more content in this company than we know what to do with. So having two or more stores is a good recomendation.

The next thing you'll want though is to have a knowledgeable architect figure out how you should structure the content across the various stores. You want to be able to get the advantage of having them without the problems of trying to have relationships between the content in different stores.
