A developer on our system apparently used File->rename to change the name of a DCR.
original : body_2007.dcr
new : body_2006.dcr
Subsequently, it appears that he generated a new file from the DCR (body_2008.dcr) and submitted it.
Now, he is attempting to submit the deleted original (body_2007.dcr). The results of this, to the user, is that the Submit goes through, but the deleted file remains.
Looking at some logs, I am seeing one troubling entry during this activity and it sits in iwtrace.log :
[Thu Aug 16 13:22:52 2007] TPointStore:

ave : Encoding error.
If I recall correctly, this is TeamSite's way of telling me that there is a file pointer to something that does not exist. Unfortunately, the events described above were related to me by the developer and I am not sure if other actions may have also taken place.
Can someone assist me in determining what happened?
Of note, I reverted the deleted file to the last version (an undeleted version), which created another file (named body_2007.dcr). But, oddly, the deleted version of the file also was in the workarea (both with same name.)
I am wondering if the copy action has something to do with this.
UPDATE : It appears that the DCR only exists in the GUI. It does not exist in IWMNT on the box.
