iwebd fails to start: assertion "rv == APR_SUCCESS" failed

Our iwebd fails to start with this error in iwui/iwebd.log:

Thu Dec 06 15:14:41 2007] [crit] [Thu Dec 06 15:14:41 2007] file vhost.c, line 190, assertion "rv == APR_SUCCESS" failed
Abort - core dumped
/appl/gwtst00/code/TeamSite/iw-webd/bin/iw.webd start: iwwebd could not be started

Has anybody ever seen this?
