Cross branch file browser

We have experienced some problems with cross branch file browsing after upgrading to version 6.5 from 6.1. The problem is when we click OK to a selected file in our Menu editor we get an exception saying "Permission denied to get property Window.SelectFileCallback" but we cannot figure out if it is a permission error or because the file callback has changed for version 6.5.

Here is our code. When we click browse in the Menu editor we add this attribute to the button:

And here is the javascript functions used above (it seems like the SelectFileCallback is never called as we don't get the alerts when they are commented in):

How are you using this ? From a custom menu item ? I have used the cross branch browser in 6.5 from within a DCR without an issue.
