Simple Workflow and VisualAnnotate

I'm trying to find some documentation on how to implemented Visual Annotate in a basic Workflow. I've seen samples that are very heavy perl based (i.e. configurable_author_submit.wft) and it's too much outside my skillset to figure out how to do this. Could someone assist me in either pointing to an good sample of what is needed (bare minimum) in a WFT file to implement Visual Annotate or explain what I need to do?

Does anybody even use Visual Annotate?

my advice: learn Perl ... that's what I did!

In the beginning it's a bit like banging you head on the walls, but after a while you get use to the pain and you start writing Perl poetry.

Or if you have TeamSite 6.7 you should use the WorkFlow modeler which is a pretty nice tool.

It's not that I dont' know Perl, but trying to still get the understanding of perl+workflow is a tall order.
