Change an attribute for existing contents

We would like to update the attribute of 1000+ nonxml files in a workarea. There are a no. of attributes of which we need to update only one attrib field.
Is there an option to do this at one go for all files in WA.

Nothing in Teamsite but can you backdoor route of going to the console and from your /iwmnt do a grep and replace.

Please elaborate on what you mean by "attribute"?
Are you talking about TeamSite EAs?
Are you talking about file ownership, file group ownership?, access mode bits?
or something else?

In general, there's probably not a built-in command for you to use for this (though it still depends on what you mean by "attribute") and you'll probably have to use a CLT and a wrapper script - or a Java program and CSSDK to accomplish what you want.
