Issue
- When checking out a notebook from Knowledge Exchange, a user has the option of checking out models and objects as Locked or Read Only. What are the differences between the two, and how does the option apply to ProVision?
Discussion
When models and objects are checked out from Knowledge Exchange to ProVision, they must either be Read Only or Locked. A model can be Locked, but all or some of the objects within it can also be Read-Only.
Read-Only means that the object or model cannot be updated or deleted within ProVision. Read-Only objects will have the eyeglasses icon in ProVision but will not have an icon in Knowledge Exchange.
A Locked model or object restricts what others can do with the model or object. There are no restrictions placed on the user that owns the lock. The lock owner has permission to change the object, such as deleting or updating it. Locked objects will have the red check-mark icon in ProVision and the padlock icon in Knowledge Exchange.
