Floating License Server Error Code 999

Issue

• A user has a Floating License Server and all of the license files exist and are valid. However, when ProVision is opened, the user receives a ProVision Product Licensing screen stating the following:

  ProVisionBPA/ProVision feature or licensing file is either missing or invalid. (code 999)

Resolution

• This is typically due to a corrupt or out-of-date Borrow key in the registry. To correct this, proceed as follows:

  1. Exit from ProVision.
  2. Access the Windows registry by going to Start --> Run. Type in regedit and press Enter.
  3. Expand My Computer.
  4. Go to the key HKEY\_CURRENT\_USER\\SOFTWARE\\FLEXlm License Manager.
  5. Delete any key beneath this named Borrow.
  6. Repeat step 5 for the key HKEY\_LOCAL\_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\FLEXlm License Manager.
  7. Close the registry.
  8. Restart ProVision.
