Connections.pvr connections.bak connections.tmp |
Connection files stored on C:\\PVDATA\\v6.x.x:
Connections.pvr - Contains the list of repository database connections that are currently displayed in the Repository Control window of ProVision. If deleted, all active connections are lost, and the user will need to use the Connection Wizard within ProVision to reconnect.
Connections.bak - A backup of the previous version of Connections.pvr. This file is created or replaced when the Connection Wizard is used to change the list of connected repositories in the Repository Control window.
Connections.tmp - A temporary file created to back up Connections.pvr. It will be deleted after ProVision is closed, provided there is no abnormal shutdown. |
\_pvwdb.key |
Connection file stored in the same folder as the repository. This is created when Provision connects to the specified mdb. This file should not be deleted. |
Connect vs. Repair Connection |
If the repository folder location contains both the active.lst and \_pvwdb.key files, the user can use the "Connect" option from the Repository main menu in ProVision to automatically detect the repository in the folder and connect.
If the folder contains only the ProVision mdb file, the user MUST use the "Repair Connection" option to browse to the specific mdb file to connect. ProVision will then create the 2 associated files, active.lst and \_pvwdb.key.
Note that ProVision can only connect to one repository per folder. |
