Issue
- Why can't I connect to a .mdb file from another ProVision user?
Resolution
- The .mdb is a Microsoft Database file. ProVision uses the .mdb file for local repositories as well as Teamwork repositories. The following guidelines should help when trying to connect to a .mdb file from another user:
Confirm that the file was created in ProVision.
Make sure the .mdb file is in its own folder, with no other .mdb files.
Check the .mdb folder for a .key and .lst file. If they are not present you need to run Repair Connection. To do this, open ProVision, click on Repository and click on Repair Connection. Next, browse to the file you are trying to connect to, click the file, and click Open. Click Next and then Finish.
If the .key and .lst files are present, open ProVision, click on Repository and click Connect. Select the first option, A File-based repository that is on your computer or is accessible via a local-area network. Click Next. Click Browse, browse to the folder where your .mdb file is located, and click Ok. Click Next. The repository you're trying to connect to should be listed. Highlight the repository, click Next and Finish.
At this point you should be able to connect to your repository successfully.
