Clicking on 'System Settings' Tab Shuts Down LMTools Application

Issue

• When a user clicks on the System Settings tab in LMTools, the application closes without warning.

Resolution

• When the System Settings tab is selected, an attempt is made to collect system information. The security policies of some servers will prohibit this, and the application will terminate. A workaround for collecting server information when requesting a floating license is as follows:

  1. On the floating license server (FLS), go to Start --> Run.
  2. Type cmd and hit Enter.
  3. At the command prompt, type cd \\ and hit Enter to move to the C: drive.
  4. Type dir >> hostid.txt and hit Enter.
  5. Type ipconfig /all >> hostid.txt and hit Enter.
  6. Type exit and hit Enter to close the window.
  7. A file named hostid.txt can be found now on the C: drive. Send this file as an attachment to license@metastorm.com to request a license file for your FLS.
