Restoring ProVision Repository Connections

Issue

• Repository view in ProVision does not display previously connected repositories.

Resolution

• Repository connection information is stored in the following 3 files: connections.bak, connections.pvr, and connections.tmp. When ProVision is closed successfully, they are updated. The default location of these files is C:\\PVDATA\\v\[version number\]. The location may have been changed during installation.

• The unexpected behavior may be related to the file connections.pvr, which ProVision uses to connect when opening. Restore the latest backup of this file as follows:

  1. Shut down ProVision.
  2. Move the file connections.pvr to a different folder in order to save a copy.
  3. Copy the file connections.bak to a different folder and change the extension to .pvr.
  4. Move the new connections.pvr file, from step 3, into the C:\\PVDATA\\v\[version number\] folder. Leave the original copy of the file connections.bak in the folder.
  5. Restart ProVision.
