Issue
During installation on a Windows XP standalone computer, after the Engine account is specified and Next is clicked, the following message appears:
This computer's configuration does not allow the installation of the e-Work Engine as a service as the account can not be validated. Click on "Back" and specify an account with appropriate permissions to continue.
Resolution
The following is from the Metastorm BPM (e-Work) Installation Prerequisites document:
If you are installing the Metastorm Process Engine as a service on a standalone computer running Windows XP, you must ensure that:
- The HKEY\_LOCAL\_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Lsa\\ForceGuest registry value is set to 0 and the Guest account should be disabled.
- The account that you nominate during installation has a password that is not blank.
