Issue
If FIPS compliant cryptography is enabled on the server hosting the Metastorm Process Engine, the web parts for SharePoint are unable to successfully connect to the BPMEngine.NET virtual directory via HTTP and will generate an Access denied error. Users will be unable to access Metastorm.
To check this setting, do either of the following:
Go to Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Local Security Policy. Under Local Policies, Security Options, check the policy entitled System cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing. Make sure that it is disabled.
In the registry, go to HKEY\_LOCAL\_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Lsa. Make sure the value of fipsalgorithmpolicy is set to 0 (zero).
Resolution
- Enforcing FIPS compliant cryptography is not supported.
