Moving Between Alert Lists Requires Selecting Service Name with SSO

Issue

• After logging in to Metastorm BPM through Windows single sign-on (SSO), a user has to click on the service name to see a different alert list or the blank forms list.

  For example, a user is logged in and their Watch list is displayed. When the To Do list icon is clicked, a screen appears with the message You are not connected to any service, please select a service from the left. After clicking the service name, the To Do list is displayed. If the Blank Forms icon is now clicked, the same message appears and the user must click on the service name again.

Resolution

• As stated in the Metastorm BPM Windows Single Sign-on guide, the case of the service name that is specified in the SSO URL must match the case of the service name that is specified in the EngineServiceConfig.xml file found here:

  C:\\Program Files\\Metastorm BPM\\IIS extensions (version 7.x)
  C:\\Program Files\\Metastorm e-Work\\Service Director\\config. (version 6.x)

  Assuming the default value is used, Metastorm BPM Server or e-Work Server, the following URLs would work properly:

  http:///MetastormSSO/esso.asp?service=Metastorm BPM Server (version 7.x)
  http:///escripts/esso.asp?service=e-Work Server (version 6.x)

  The following would give the behavior described above:

  http:///MetastormSSO/esso.asp?service=Metastorm BPM server (version 7.x)
  http:///escripts/esso.asp?service=E-Work Server

  Note that a space in the service name is replaced with %20.
