Issue
When opening a form containing a signature field, a user gets the message Failed to read attachment.
A warning similar to the following may be found in the Windows application event viewer:
Unable to access attachment: eClientSignature.js , owned by: , type: 1 .
Resolution
Activate the signature file as described in the Administration Guide.
- Go to Start --> Programs --> Metastorm BPM --> Administrative Tools --> System Administrator.
- Right-click on Metastorm Authentication and select Connect.
- Connect to the database.
- Right-click on Metastorm Authentication and select Activate Signature.
- Browse to and select eClientSignature.js from the folder Program Files\\Metastorm BPM\\Engine.
If you modify eClientSignature.js, you must reactivate the signature in the System Administrator and restart the web server for the change to take effect.
