Discussion
- 6.6.1, 6.6.2, 6.6.3 (withdrawn and replaced with 6.6.4), and 6.6.4 can run on a machine that does not have .NET 2.0 installed.
- The 6.6.1 and 6.6.2 Engine cannot run on a machine that has .NET 2.0 installed.
- The 6.6.1 and 6.6.2 Designer requires .NET 1.1. If .NET 2.0 is installed also, a configuration file must be downloaded and installed so that the Designer uses .NET 1.1. See kb676 for more information.
If the e-Work Engine is to be newly installed on a server with .NET 1.1 and .NET 2.0 already installed, the Metastorm Install Utility for .NET 2.0 must be installed first. Next, install e-Work 6.6.1. Then remove the install utility. Run the 6.6.4 upgrade and then install the 6.6.4.1 hotfix.
The install utility is available for download from the Customer and Partner Zones of the Metastorm website.
- 6.6.3 and 6.6.4 themselves do not require the install utility - only 6.6.1 (and only if .NET 2.0 is installed).
- If 6.6.1 or 6.6.2 is installed and running, then .NET 2.0 is installed, 6.6.4 can be installed directly. The install utility is not required.
- The 6.6.2, 6.6.3, and 6.6.4 web extensions run as an ASP.NET application. .NET 1.1 is required, so ASP.NET properties for the web extensions in IIS should be explicitly set to run under ASP.NET 1.1 � not 2.0 (if present).
