Issue
- A user opens a folder from their To Do or Watch list, and %Action.Name is populated even though the user has not taken an action.
Resolution
The Designer User Manual was revised as follows for version 7.5:
This variable is populated when an action is started on a folder and cleared when the action is completed. The field may not be cleared if the action form is closed without the action being submitted or cancelled. For example, the browser is closed without the action being completed.
When a folder is locked by User A (they've taken an action but haven't submitted or cancelled the action form), %Action.Name will not be empty if User B opens the same folder. As expected, User B will not be able to take an action on the folder because it has been locked by User A. But if User B opens a folder page with a text field that shows %Action.Name, it will be populated with the name of the action taken by User A.
The Integration Wizard in the Designer for Action and form information --> Action name states this will be empty when looking at a folder page, which is incorrect for the situation described above.
