Automation Server Can't Create Object

Issue

• When trying to login to Metastorm BPM through Single Sign-on (SSO), the following error message is generated:

  Single Sign-on Error
  Error - -2146827859
  Description - Automation server can't create object
  Source -

Resolution

• Verify that the file SSOHelper.dll is installed. For a default installation, it can be found here: C:\\Program Files\\Metastorm BPM \[e-Work\]\\WinSSO\\Web\\ActiveX

• Re-register the DLL using regsvr32.exe.

• If the web extensions are installed on a server running 64-bit Windows, do the following:

  1. Re-register the 32-bit .NET Framework. See this Microsoft article How to switch between the 32-bit versions of ASP.NET 1.1 and the 64-bit version of ASP.NET 2.0 on a 64-bit version of Windows for details.

  2. On Windows Server 2003, open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. Drill down to Web Service Extensions. Make sure the 32-bit ASP.NET web service extension is set to Allowed.
