Issue
During the installation or upgrade of e-Work (Engine), the following error is encountered:
COM+ Application Processing Failed!
Met\_AddASPNETUserToEngineClientRole(Metastorm e-Work Engine)
Error Number: 0x9011040f
One or more users are not valid.
Resolution
- Ensure that the user running the install (the user logged in to the server) has Default Access Permission for Distributed COM Default Security. This can be checked by going to Administrative Tools --> Component Services --> My Computer. Right-click, select Properties, and then Default (COM) Security.
- On Windows Server 2003, verify that ASP.NET is installed on the Engine server. Go to Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Add or Remove Programs --> Add/Remove Windows Components. ASP.NET is a subcomponent of Application Server. If ASP.NET is unchecked, it needs to be installed. After it has been installed, rerun the e-Work installation.
