Resolution
Verify the version(s) of Microsoft .NET installed on the server. This can be done with the Windows Add or Remove Programs utility or by checking here: C:\\WINDOWS\\Microsoft.NET\\Framework.
NOTE: the Engine, Designer, and Web Extensions of e-Work 6.6.1, 6.6.2, 6.6.3 (this version has been withdrawn and replaced by 6.6.4), and 6.6.4 all require the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1.
If .NET 2.0 is installed in addition to .NET 1.1, only the e-Work version 6.6.3 or 6.6.4 Engine can be used. These versions require .NET 1.1, but will operate if .NET 2.0 is also installed. If a previous version of e-Work is installed, either upgrade to 6.6.4 or remove .NET 2.0.
See the article .NET 2.0 and Upgrading to Metastorm BPM 6.6.4 for more information.
If .NET 1.1 is not installed, do the following:
- Uninstall e-Work.
- Install .NET 1.1 from the Redistributables section of the e-Work 6.6.1 CD.
- Reinstall e-Work.
If .NET 1.1 is installed, but not .NET 2.0, it may be necessary to repair the .NET 1.1 installation.
- Uninstall e-Work.
- On Windows 2000 (e-Work 6.6.2 and later are not supported on Windows 2000) or Windows XP, see the Microsoft article How to troubleshoot Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 installation issues
On Windows Server 2003, see the Microsoft article How to troubleshoot Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 installation issues on Microsoft Windows Server 2003
NOTE: Windows Server 2003 Release 2 installs .NET 2.0.
- Reinstall e-Work.
