Problem Shutting Down Windows When Using Office XP (2002)

Issue

• Trying to shut down Windows (shut down the computer) generates the message 'End Program Parking Window.' Checking Task Manager for the processes running will reveal multiple instances of Outlook.exe. It is necessary to end each of these either through Task Manager prior to Shut Down or by clicking on the 'End Now' button in the window that will appear for each instance of the Outlook process that is running.

Resolution

• This is resolved by MS Office XP SP2.
