Issue
- The folder ID (eFolderID) no longer begins with all zeros when Oracle is used as the Metastorm repository.
Discussion
Hot fixes 7.0.1.8, 7.5.1.19, and 7.6.1.6 introduced a workaround for a bug in Oracle where only the first 32 bytes (8 characters) of a character string are used for generating statistics (indexes).
After eWorkPackage.sql is run, the first 8 characters of the folder ID are replaced with the last 8 characters of the folder ID. For example, 0000000000000000000000000275196 would become 0027519600000000000000000275196.
This results is an increase in performance when opening folders or accessing ToDo/Watch lists.
Because hot fixes are cumulative, installing a subsequent hot fix FOR THE SAME RELEASE will include this workaround. However, upgrading from 7.5.1.20 to 7.6.0 or 7.6.1 would cause the workaround to be lost, and there would be a decrease in performance. 7.6.1 with hot fix 6 or later would need to be installed.
