Populate Metadata Capture UI during File-> Import operation

Hi,

Can someone point me a right direction on how to display a metadata capture UI when a user tries to import a file into the workarea.
In the teamsite documentation i have read that this is possible but not given any additonal information on how to achieve this.

Off the top-of-my-head I can think of a convoluted way utilizing iwat and a workflow via iwwft_compile.ipl - but it's questionable at best, and there might be a better way that I'm just not thinking of right now....

Import Applet does not provide any API to figure out what assets were imported.

I did Import post-processing once by importing to the dedicated Directory and utilising Import's "done_page" parameter
to call my own CGI script. You can perhaps do something similar using CC URL commands 'import' and 'tag', see
Interwoven® User Interface Customization Guide for details

I don't know how viable an option this is for you, but I also seem to remember that when importing a file (really drag-and-dropping) using Front Office Tools, you are given the option (in a "popup" fashion) to tag then also.

Thanks Andy. Did not know they still maintain this strange animal. As far as I recall it is not so much gives you MDCT to Tag
assets upon dropping them to TS *Folder* as allows you to configure a workflow to do anything you want with it.

Is there any separate licensing fee for it?

Yea you can do either, start a WF, tag, or ignore.

People loved it when buying, I am not certain that all that many people used it in a production rollout. Reminds me a lot of WF Builder. Demoed well, but in the end just not enterprise-wide adoptable.

IIRC, there is no extra fee for it. However, at times it was a product you would purchase. As IWOV has adapted the licensing, you would be best talking to the local sales critter about it.
